[Filtered Away from Yusuke]

[The feed comes up with Keiko looking curious and a tiny bit awkward. It isn't everyday she finds herself needing to ask for advice from complete strangers. Especially not romantic advice. She's usually got things under control, but this is a little different from usual.]

So I have a slight problem. I have plans for a date on Christmas and I'm not sure what to wear. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but he actually initiated the making plans process. I want to look nice you know? Not like fancy or anything but definitely wow him if possible.

[She turns the gear so that her open closest is visible to anyone who is watching. It isn't the most encouraging sight. Most of her clothes are more everyday than date material and she only has one dress in there as is.]

Do you know yet where you'll be going on the date? Will it be indoors or outdoor?

I think it will be indoors, he sort of has something against being outside for any amount of time.

[She shrugs.]

Beyond that I'm not sure what we'll be doing actually.

At least you won't have to worry about the weather. It's gotten rather chilly.

[He makes a contemplative sound.]

I suppose the big question here is how much money do you want to spend?

But it's nice. You know? There's something gorgeous about winter though.

Nothing extraveggant. Just enough to knock his socks off.

[She shrugs. Okay she's starting to repeat herself so she'll stop talking now. Chances are it probably isn't worth mentioning since knocking Yusuke's socks off probably takes a different sort of effort than it would for most guys.]

I'd be happy with presentably pretty, though.

Then I suggest a dress with a swooping neckline, white or red for the season. If you have any jewellery, I would definitely wear it for this, especially if you have pearls or any nice silver or white gold. I'd go light on the cosmetics, placing emphasis on the eyes if you're wearing a red dress or the lips if you're wearing white.

[He smiles a bit ruefully.]

This place is somewhat limited in selection for buying, and I currently don't have the room or supplies to offer full tailoring; otherwise, I would offer to make something for you. Have you consulted the Goldenrod or Celadon department store catalogue? Most items can be delivered to your local Poké Mart.

[The looks she's giving the camera says she's feeling a little overwhelmed by specificity in his suggestions. But it fades after a moment.]

I think you just made my list a touch longer than I was expecting.

Yeah I'm in Goldenrod City so I was going to take a look in the store once I had a chance.

[So Kuwabara's grinning like an idiot. Feel free to ignore him, Keiko.]

Got a romantic getaway planned while we're gone, huh?

[Never she isn't capable of such a mean thing, but she is blushing.]

I don't know Yusuke is doing the planning. [Which admittedly has her a little worried, for obvious reasons.]

[He grins a little at that. Aww, aren't you two cute!]

Oh, leaving him in charge? Hopefully he doesn't take you to a gym or somethin'.

[The look on her face right now says just how horrible that would be to end up at a gym.]

Don't joke about that. I've waited a year for Yusuke to be interested in going on a date.

Sorry, Keiko. It just seems like a Urameshi thing to do. But if he's considerate enough, he might pick some place you've talked about or somethin'. Probably somethin' you like.

[...he really wouldn't bet on it, though. He has 0% faith that Urameshi knows what to do on a date.]

It's okay.

[She pauses a beat and when she finally speaks up again she sounds almost defeated.]

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't expecting him to potentially stand me up or ditch me partway. But I'm hoping that it won't be like that this time.

[Oh, now that's definitely not the sound he wanted to hear from this. He takes a moment to think, but then just laughs. Gotta play this off with happiness.]

Well... We're not fightin' anything here, so you shouldn't have anythin' to worry about, Keiko! And I don't think he's chickenshit enough to ditch ya.

He's nice enough that he'll stay even if he gripes about it.

[That gets a small smile out of her. She'll admit to him having a point there and takes a breath as she holds back from reminding him about how they both ditched her when he came from Genkai's the first time.]

He's grown up a lot hasn't he?

[Sorry Kuwabara that's about as happy you're going to get her now. You've successfully unintentionally rained on her parade.]

[Aww but Keiko, he didn't mean to 8(]

Hmm... I'd say so, yeah. Plus, he's pretty hooked. He's practically glued to your side already.

I wouldn't say he's glued to my side. I mean he was when I was unconscious and has been for the last few days, but it'll go back to normal eventually.

[Kuwabara just smiles.]

That's practically normal, knowin' us.

You know what this means, don't you?

[Oh no it's that look in her eye.]

It's time to go shopping~!

[That look actually doesn't have her too worried this time. Go figure.]

Yeah. How do I only own one dress?

[This is a serious question she practically lived in skirts and dress at home.]

Don't worry about it! This just affords you the opportunity to check if new things came in since the last time you shopped. That's what I love most about human world fashions, there's always something new when you make a trip. We'll get something that really knocks Yusuke off his feet!

Thank goodness since I can't even begin to narrow down to what exactly I should expect for the date.

[She grins because they'll definitely get something they think will knock Yusuke's socks off, but he was notoriously disinterested in what she was wearing. Which is why she says quietly what she's been scared to say to any of the other kind people trying to help:]

You know he's never really taken an interest in what I was wearing before, though. Maybe we should just strive for something I feel comfortable in?

Absolutely! There's nothing wrong with being comfortable and fashionable, we'll just have to try a bunch of things and see what works. [Ain't nothing gonna put a damper on her excitement.]

[Well good because Keiko needs a little of that excitement to rub off on her now that Kuwabara has thoroughly ruined her own. Her exuberance a little forced in her next words:]

We'll have to start early. There's bound to be a fair amount of options and I'm not sure how much the staff would like it if we were there all night.

They would probably be fine with it as long as we spent money.

[She does catch it, though Keiko is usually quite practical and this is Yusuke they're talking about, not feeling the exuberance after the initial shock is to be expected.]

Don't worry about it, Keiko, I'll guide you all the way! [Guiding like this is preferable to what she usually does anyway.]

True. Spending money would probably be a deciding factor for them.

[She smiles at Botan because thank you. She will take all the guiding she can get now that she's come back down to Johto.]
