There's soft laughter heard in the background as the Hoppip and Vulpix both lunge and retreat at each other in a playful game of cat and mouse. While it seems that the little games is all in good fun the camera lurches forward when the Vulpix gets too close to actually biting the Hoppip.]
No Kurama. You don't hurt your friends.
[And that ladies and gentlemen is Keiko making her grand entrance as she scoops up her fox and flying puffball and returns to the bench camera giving a lovely view of her from her chest up and two stunned looking pokes at being carried back to the bench. On the ground is a couple bags from a completed shopping trip. It was about time for a break and she wanted to give her pokes a chance to play in the sun as opposed to her room at the Inn. She figured if it was healthier for humans it was probably healthier for a pokémon too.
Letting each one go she pats their heads when neither Vulpix nor Hoppip make any attempt to resume their game. She takes that as a good sign and smiles.]

[She sighs, if she had known that letting them out without any of the rest of her party would end like this she would have given her Pidgey free reign of the skies. As it is she's wondering if maybe she should have named these two after Yusuke and Kuwabara instead. And with that wonderful thought the feed ends.]

Given the amount of noise he usually generates just by virtue of being, well, himself, one might not suspect him of being particularly good at being sneaky, but by God, when given enough incentive, he sure can be. So, slowly but surely, he makes his way over, and as soon as he's behind her...
... he slams both of his hands down on the back of the bench, with each hand on either side of her head, and shouts:]
AAAH!

Hand pressed to her chest, Keiko turns glaring at the giant jerk. She's still trying to get her breathing in order. It takes her a minute but when she finally does there's a only a split second before she's winding up for her trademark Keiko Slap while shouting:]
YOU JERK, WHAT IF I'D BEEN EATING SOMETHING?!
[Not your most brilliant moment Yusuke.]

Fortunately for Yusuke, though, his head doesn't hit the ground so hard that he winds up getting a concussion. Hell, after spending a good long moment sprawled out on the grass waiting for the world to stop spinning, he's even okay enough to start hauling himself up into a sitting position - y'know, albeit rather unsteadily and with both of his hands clutched to his rapidly swelling face.]
Aah-- fff-- s'okay, I'm fine...!
[... he exclaims, sounding dizzy. Yeah. SURE YOU ARE, BUDDY.]

[:I HOW DO YOU RESPOND TO YOUR NOT-GIRLFRIEND ASKING YOU STUFF LIKE THAT? Gruffly, that's how. There's another pause, during which Yusuke just kind of... awkwardly stands there rubbing his jaw, but then, finally, he speaks up again, telling her:]
Y'know, uh, that power reduction spell this place put on us is no joke. That slap didn't hurt nearly as much as it usually does.
[Yep, he noticed! It was hard for him not to, considering how much experience he has being on the receiving end of her Devastating Megaton Slaps. The revelation that she isn't as strong as she usually is doesn't change the fact that she still managed to put enough force behind the slap to leave his face looking really red, though. He almost looks like he has a nasty sunburn.]

Guess they have to keep things fair somehow.

[GRUMP GRUMP GRUMP. Forever a grump. And on that note, Yusuke nimbly hoists himself up and over the back of the bench, crouching there on the seat once his feet make contact with it. It's at that point that he notices the bags on the ground, which prompts him to say:]
Oh, you went shopping?
[Then, without even bothering to ask for permission first, he leans down, snatches one of the bags up, and begins poking through it. Hope Keiko didn't purchase anything embarrassing!]

[Oh shit he found the bags. She stares on as he rifles through the first bag. Thankfully, it only had extra supplies for their impending trip to Azalea. Mostly potions a few extra pokéballs on the off chance she finds an interesting pokémon and can convince herself that catching it isn’t a bad thing. Carefully she nudges the bag furthest from him under the bench. She could live without him finding out she actually owned a skirt in this world too. She wasn’t in any rush to have him flip her skirt.]
Well I thought it might be a good idea since we’re leaving soon. Azalea’s sort of far away and care for the pokémon will be our responsibility instead of Nurse Joy, right?

[She shrugs because honestly she doesn't know why everyone more or less voted for the long trip. She voted that way because it seemed like the next logical place to go in terms of gym battles for the half dozen trainers they traveled with.]
[It's only when he asks if she's spent any time training her pokes that she sort of deflates a little. She hasn't. It never seemed like much of a priority. Not really an excuse but she hadn't really liked the concept either. It made her think of the illegal animal fight rings and it just put a really bad taste in her mouth. She looks sheepish when she finally answers:]

I haven't been outside Violet yet, but I heard on the grapevine that the farther you travel here, the stronger the wild ones get.
[And what would happen to her if all of her Pokemon fainted and she was up against some monster, and she didn't have him around to put his foot in its face? It's not like he's around her 24/7. Seriously, Yusuke doesn't even wanna think about her being in that kind of danger...
He does, though, and ultimately, it's the possibility of Keiko getting hurt that's prompting him to get on her about training her Pokemon. Being the enormous tsundere he is, though, Yusuke doesn't tell her that. Instead, he scowls at her and snaps:]
So it's stupid to just let 'em lay around! Besides, they probably need the exercise. Cutie's looking kind of fat.
[... or maybe that's just how Hoppips are shaped. Whatever.]

I just can't make myself put themm in situations where they have to fight. I'm not like you Yusuke. This isn't normal for me.
[She almost pouts at him for the sheer fact taht this whole conversation is ridiculous. She knows that her dislike for fighting is probably doing her team more harm than good, she just isn't sure how she can possibly change her mindset.
Dropping her head, Keiko looks at her Hoppip and Vulpix both staring up at her and Yusuke. They actually seem sort of intrigued by the conversation the two two trainers are having. It'd be letting them down if she didn't at least try. Taking a deep breath she tilts her head back at Yusuke.]
Would you help me?
[She looks almost nervous as she asks, like she's expecting him to laugh in her face or mock her. But she knows that if anyone can teach her to do this training thing right it'd be Yusuke.]

... anyway. SHITTY TEACHERS ASIDE, now that Yusuke has duly poked fun at her a bit (and hopefully persuaded her to relax a little in the process - seriously, it's just him, Keiko, there's really no need to be so nervous), he gives her a cheeky sort of grin, telling her:]
Yeah, sure, I'll help you. You wanna try training right now? It's not like I've got anything to do.

[She nods. There was no time like the present. It would probably do her some good to get used to seeing it for when they left. Sort of desensitization training so she wouldn’t freeze or get incredibly emotional in the wilds. Not that the Dark Tournament really went particularly far in that respect but she would have to try anyway, battles were common place of sorts after all.]

But even then, I didn't really get much of a choice. My Eevee really wanted to fight other pokémon, and he'd keep finding ways and excuses to get into battles until I gave up and started letting him fight a lot.
If it makes you feel better though, I haven't had any problems with my pokémon hurting each other while playing or training, and I've been here over two years.

Maybe. At the very least, you're going to want to keep an eye on them and see if they keep trying to do things like this again. If they do, you might want to work on training them a bit.

Maybe. My first pokémon never grew out of wanting to fight, but he did stop attacking everything that moved eventually.
